My third visit to Angel's restaurant and it never disappoints. He hails from Andorra, via Barcelona and has recently build and opened La Era, a small restaurant with magnificent views of the pantano and the Sierra Nevada. The food here is outstanding, unashamedly modern Spanish and the northern influence yields much richer dishes made of better quality ingredients than traditionally available in Andalucia. We opted for the gastronomic menu (5 courses for €30) sharing one between two due to having eaten a huge breakfast and on account of the heat! Superb food in a superb location. The view from the patio really helped start the evening well, and it got better. We had five very different sharing plates, each one delicious. Mango salad, baked cod, pasta parcels, with the highlight either the goats cheese with almonds and a berry sauce, or a Spanish take on an English classic, Pork Wellington. Each dish was beautifully presented, and just right for five of us to share. Service was attentive but unobtrusive, with the chef/owner happy to chat at the end of evening and overfill the brandy glass. And finally, a really reasonable bill at the end. All in all, a great place I would thoroughly recommend.
At the end of track great surprise scenery viewing Canales reservoir and hills of Sierra Nevada breathtaking you wont believe you are in Spain menu was great and imaginative dishes you will expect in a restaurant in Kensington at Spanish prices service and quality of food and presentation where excellent , We will be back for sure

Buen trato y excelente cocina. Platos de calidad, buenos vinos y tapas. Siempre que paso por Güéjar Sierra hago una parada para tomar algo.
Totalmente recomendable y lugar de lo mejor de la zona ,comida lugareña casera y tradicional con condimentos No perdérselo
