The rating is clearly for food only. When I first read raving reviews of this place - that it is small, casual and friendly, I knew this would be a place I would want to celebrate a special occasion in. So I made early bookings for it and on the day itself, asked the hotel to call and ask if we could bring our own wine - since it's a special occasion. But we were promptly told that cannot be the case and that the owner has said his selection of wine was "very good."So with that, we thought perhaps they did have a better selection - even though we were fully prepared to pay corkage for the bottle we had intended to bring. A group of eight of us descended on this tiny restaurant for dinner though with reservations! We were regulars under the previous owners, but this was our first visit since the change. Very friendly reception and we were seated at a fine large outside table with good views. Now the exterior is much more pleasant after realignment of the car park. Menu is quite limited, but adequate and the Set Menu is well balanced and very good value. We enjoyed a wide range of the dishes and all were well presented and well prepared. The salmon and beef carpaccio won praise for starters and the lamb chops and sirloin likewise for mains. The special cod was surprisingly good. Wine list is short ... only one...
A small family run French restaurant serving excellent local cuisine prepared from the best local ingredients. Cosy and intimate space with a fairly modern simple decor. Service was attentive, helpful and friendly. The food was delicious - we tried Beef Tartare, Tartifette, and the Duck Breast. All were well cooked and presented and very tasty .By far the best meal we have had in Chamonix. Thoroughly recommend eating at La Fine Bouche.
This restaurant is only tiny so booking is essential. The quality of the food is amazing and is definitely the best meal that we have had on our trip to Chamonix. Marvellous savoyarde fondue! Their kitchen was visible from our table and it's very clean. The service is really good and the restaurant decor is very cute and original. They also have a small grocery store with wines and local products. Definitely worth a visit!
On holiday for the first time in Chamonix, I discovered the pantry. The staff of the Whymper panter is super pleasant, mention to the young man tonight. Very nice. The products are very good and the correct prices. Thank you.
