I visited this restaurant for the first time based on a recommendation, and while the place looked great, the food was disappointing. The cemitas bread was stale, and the meat was served cold, without any papalote or frijol. After returning my order, I chose something else. When the owner, Leticia, came over, I expected an apology, but instead, she confronted us in a hostile manner and demanded payment for the returned item, stating she would not charge us since it was our first visit. I suggest avoiding this restaurant; it's not worth your time or money.
The service was very poor. We had to wait a long time for our food, and the drinks were no better. We ordered margaritas that came without ice and tasted like diluted water instead of being frozen as requested. No one ever checked in with us to see if we needed anything, so we ended up having to get up to ask for the bill. The tortillas were burnt, and the rice was hard and cold, giving the impression that it had been sitting around for days. On top of all that, they still added a tip to our bill.
The food was bad, the pozole cold and salty, the prices are different from what they charge. Plus the Mandatory 20% of tips? I thought giving tips was optional since they don't do anything additional. They're just doing their jobs as waiters, but a mandatory $30 tip? Even if I work hard I won't earn that in 1 hour. I used to go very often. But no more.
Came to La Chicanita on Sunday after leaving another restaurant because of the long wait time. They welcomed us here immediately and were so nice! The tortillas are homemade and delicious. Will definitely be coming back!

The food was very bad, honestly I don't know what happened, maybe they changed the chef. I got a stomachache afterwards, I don't recommend it.

Omg today if I didn't like the meat very thick, when I ask for it they just cut it in half. They don't do it..?
I did not like it, the waters are very expensive and not made from natural fruits.
