le cadre du château de Nieul sans conteste, que nous avons pu apprécier depuis la terrasse juchée au dessus de plantes potagères ,très agréable par cette journée ensoleillée. L'accueil fut correct , le service sans faute.quant au déjeuner, nous avions choisi le menu "all included" l’apéritif et ses mises en bouche, les entrées originales et de saisons avec les courgettes au tourteau,belles assiettes. le plats principal du moment ,l'aile de raie bouclée manque cruellement de poids et c'est dommage c’était vraiment très bon,la portion (à vue d’œil) ne devait pas dépasser les 70grs....l'agneau quant à lui était bien servi,les légumes d'accompagnement de bon gout. un chariot de fromages excellen...

We have eaten here several times and each time it has been a delight. Thats all changed. We will never return. Whilst there is an area for people who chose to smoke to fo to, the management allow people to smoke at the tables. Centred in the terrace was a table of chain smokers. They chose to remain at the table and smoke both between and during courses. Whilst eating our meal, it was like being in a n establishment from the 70’s. Throughout our entire meal, we dined in a smog of their smoke, we couldbt be moved as they were central and it would have made no difference. My wife left before the end of the meal as it was so bad. 4 of us dined in September my fellow diners enjoyed their meals, but for me, the title of this review sums it up A waiter dropped a bread roll as he was serving us hardly professional! My Lobster starter was tender but not de veined! I don't want to eat black pieces of the Lobsters last meal in its tail pipe My Steak was sinewy, tough, chewy 0ver 50% went back on the plate not exactly what I paid for The Sommelier was not attentive, with protracted periods of empty glasses The Maitre d' wrote a lovely hand written bill, but his time could have been better spent looking after guests On choosing the Cheese selection, other guests were offered additional bread, we weren't!
