If you’re expecting a nice French cafe with traditional French flavors, this isn’t it. The flavors are decent, I’m not sure what they were thinking with the buckwheat crepes, but it doesn’t blend together. I had the eggs Benedict crepe with salmon, for such an elegant dish the crepe completely ruined it. It was like eating a fishy sponge with eggs on it. I ordered the French onion soup which was their “specialty,” not sure why, because it wasn’t much better than what you get at Panera or another fast casual restaurant. Tried and true this place always puts a smile on my face. It?s cute in nature both in decorating style outside and inside with little unique cozy touches everywhere. It has a fusion of French and Argentinian cooking from empanadas to crepes. Make sure you try some of our favorites like the french onion soup, tamales, empanadas, the savory (le Pistou or la Scandinave) and dessert crepes (la Citron or la Buenos Aires) are just fantastic. Such a cute little place. Very clean. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and specials offered. We shared a French onion soup, our entrees where the ratatouille, and stroganoff crepes, for dessert we shared the Suzette and the jambrod crepes. 10/10 Definitely looking forward to coming back.(Parking is on street, there is a free public lot about a block up from the restaurant. Great local French restaurant. Breaked in for Crepes for Dessert, was not disappointed. A glass of wine and a few fresh fruits crepes later, full and satisfied. Super sweet little restaurant in downtown Black Mountain, not miss!
Ok the onion soup was the best I ever had . The crepes were a 1 it was like eating a napkin with one slice of cheese and one slice of ham. The tasteless tamales were a 2 . We both didn?t feel good a hour later .
Went here on a whim for lunch. The food is outstanding. Some of the best French onion soup I've ever had. Their empanadas was tasty and flaky, just perfect. We will definitely return when in town again.
