"our five-headed family went early juni to lunch after la guiguette auvergnate. we led the rer to a nearby stop and went about 3 km on its to restaurant. there is another RER stop right next to the restaurant for those who do not want to walk. the lunch was pretty good. the restaurant seemed mainly native and to us to be buried. the host was more than welcoming and even opened the garden for us to have dessert outside. we were treated with the local kir, that was delicious. we have learned about the restaurant in the travel book an hour from paris. description of the walk was not so clear, but we found our way there. the duck was a favorite at our table."

. I expected that all of the guignettes would have terrible food. It wasn’t great for sure but it was passable. I had an entré of pave de Saumon sauce dugéré and it was quite good. My plat was Saint Jacques provinçale and I wasn’t sure what was in the sauce—and I wasn’t particularly fond of it. We ordered the cheese for dessert. The music consisted of an accordion player and a keyboard player and they both sang too. I thoroughly enjoyed the music. It was too cold to sit on the terrace overlooking the water so we were all inside. We would have enjoyed being outside but the restaurant was so old-fashioned and authentic that we enjoyed the ambiance. Most, if not all of the people there, were lo...

I found out about this guinguette auvergnate in the travel book "An Hour From Paris" (Annabel Simms, 2010). With book in hand, I walked from the RER D station just after 13h 00 and the place was packed. When the owner, Jean-Pierre, saw me at the entrance with the book, he immediately came over, welcomed me, and found me a nice small table overlooking the Seine. In spite of it being full, the service was almost immediate. On my first trip I opted for the buffet lunch, and on this most recent trip I ordered from the menu their fabulous Auvergne sausage, followed by a luscious desert that alone probably could have calorically fueled my body for the entire day. The food here is fantastic. love t...

I learned about this guinguette auvergnate in the travel book an hour from paris (annabel simms, 2010). with book in the hand I went from the rer d station shortly after 13h 00 and the place was packed. when the owner, Jean-Pierre, saw me at the entrance with the book, he immediately came by, greeted me and found me a nice little table with view of his. despite his full performance, the service was almost instant. on my first trip I decided for the midday buffet, and on this last trip I ordered from the menu their fabulous auvergne sausage, followed by a lush desert that could have filled my body for the whole day. eating here is fantastic. love this place at the weekends in the late spring...
