Came to be at this place after trying 3 better TA rated restaurants which were either fully booked or closed for the holidays!! More of a bar that does food than a restaurant but well patronised by the locals. Tables are situated in the Church square, so there is always something going on. Food is decidedly average, we ordered fish and chips (yes, I know but the menu is really limited) and a Chorizo Burger. The burger was fine but the fish wasn't cooked in the middle. So we were out for an evening stroll, still in the heat of the August summer. We needed a pre dinner drink and came across this lovely bar in the lea of the cathedral (fantastic architecture great ambience) We sat outside and waited for what must have been 10 mins before the waitress finally arrived (I was on the verge of leaving) I realise that we were on holiday, and we did have all the time in the world and I know that different nationalities have different time scales but it just felt like we were left. Shame really because the environment was lovely and the beer was fantastic
This place is totally unsophisticated and the fare likewise. However, for the small price it's very good. We found the service prompt from the proprietor and the chef has a kitchen in the back about 3 feet square but still manages to cook a very tasty lunch. We had the plat du jour which was roast pork and I can tell you it was cooked to perfection with an extremely good sauce. A good rating does not always mean a place is like the Ritz but if you get something decent for what you pay, then it deserves a commendation.
après nous avoir installé, on nous annonce qu'il n'y a plus le plat du jour : la cassolette de fruits de mer. Il n'y avait que des plats à viande , un vendredi.... !La serveuse s'est mise une boucle d'oreille dans sa bouche : un peu dégueux ! Pour la commande de plats simples, comptez un bon quart d'heure d'attente. Pour les familles, c'est vraiment à fuir ! Et le prix appliqué est démesuré par rapport à ce qui est proposé.

Accueil très agréable, nous avons eu la chance d'être acceptés en derniers clients. Il n'y avait plus de plat du jour ni certains mets mais normal lorsque l'on est en fin de service et que les plats sont maison. Il fallait arriver plus tôt ! En tout cas, les plats choisis étaient tous très bons et le service très très sympathique. Des frites maison, un bonheur !
Sur la place de la cathédrale on peut manger en terrasse ou à l'intérieur. Le menu est à 12,50€, vu les assiettes les plats sont plutôt correct. J ai pris une salade nordique qui était très bonne et joliment préparé. Seul chose qui m a choqué : le cuistot qui attend les commandes et qui consulte son portable devant les clients
Un restaurant brasserie, que l'on y aille pour boire un coup ou même y manger c'est très agréable ! Une cuisine très bonne ,une ambiance magique !Un patron hors norme ! Allez y je le recommande !
Sympathique établissement avec une sélection de plats du jour. Belle terrasse ensoleillée pour profiter d'une terrasse à Alençon.
