This was my last day in France. I was leaving via Chatellerault station. I wanted to take my friends out and they found this restaurant. So lovely to eat in someone's home. Everything was cooked to perfection. My main course was veal which I usually avoid because it is difficult to cook well. The menu is quite short - 4 choices for each course. You could pick at random and get a good meal whatever you chose. Highly-recommended. Need to book. I forgot to say - the price was good too.
We have eaten at Maison d'Alice many times and recommend it to our guests. It is everyone's favourite. Excellent quality of food at incredibly reasonable prices. Great ambiance, friendly service and tastefully decorated little restaurant. You need to book. I most definitely recommend it.
Can you picture a family of skilled cooks invited you to their welcoming home? Can you imagine being served by the daughter of the family (whose name is Alice)? Can you think of what "home cooking" could and should be? Hospitality fine food = a most enjoyable meal.
We've been there in January 2015 and we had our best experience in French hospitality and food. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding! Thank you, we'll be there in May for sure!
