A few hundred meters from the shopping streets of Vilafranca, Argentinian restaurant La Martina served us one of the best meals we had during our trip in Spain. Though we went for the ‘menu del dia’, we were served with some snacks before the starter an excellent vegetable ravioli arrived. Even if expectations for meat run high when visiting an Argentinian restaurant, La Martina managed to surpass them. Tender, tasty, and cooked just the right way. La Martina doesn´t go for the Argentinian theme pub type decor, instead it felt just like a good old family Spanish restaurant just with all the Argentinian cuts you know and expect, both top end (Lomo alto, etc. and very reasonable prices for the more popular cuts (picaña, entraña, tira de asado cuts etc. The asador cut was on the bone was particularly tasty. The service was as good as the meat was as good as the vibe. The croquets and empanadas were all home made and delicious. Over all a good Sunday meal at a good price in a nice restaurant. With a couple of bottles of house red filling lunch for eight (4 adults 4 kids costs us about 140 euros. That´s great value.
We were having a bife and a churrasquito, of enrrada we asked for jnas empanadas and provolone, everything was perfect and the price was contained. the site is beautiful and the attention was very good, the super friendly owner and we were chatting a good time. If we're around the area back, we'll definitely come back.
I as looking for a good restaurant to eat some Argentinian beef and they did not disappoint us. Very nice setting, Very friendly staff. We were treated as kings. Nice food surprises : a salmon salad in phyllo dough. The beef meet was soft as butter. We cannot eat it that way in Belgium.
