Great atmosphere they have a whole variety of antojitos from TostiLokos Fresas con crema banana dipped in a hard chocolate syrup to carnitas also a carniceria and much more, first time being there since I moved to the city of Visalia, it’s only a 15 minute drive, heard the masa for the tamales was great, I have high hopes on it.
La mejor is by far one of the best places to get authentic Mexican food. This place brought back memories of my childhood favorites as places like this are not around. I was saddened to hear of the fire that destroyed the family owned business that had been opened for over 50 years.
It was a great place until it unfortunately caught fire. I really miss the food and hope they rebuild and reopen soon. I love their tamales and chili verde — everything is delicious! I always struggle to decide what to order because it’s all so good.

Was hoping for a delicious tamale. Got a greasy, greasy plain tasting tamale. Price was definitely not worth it! Will not be going back.
