This chain used to offer very large portions of French food nothing like haute cuisine or innovative creativity, but real food and made a specialism, as the name implies, of doing things with potatoes. Sadly, it has Americanised its menu, which comes on fun paper place settings, and is mostly fried stuff and bought in sauces. There are still some old style potato centred dishes but they were unavailable for the last hour of lunchtime, which indicates how much they've been reduced as mainstays of the restaurant. We arrived at 2pm (they close at 3) and were told yes we could be served but would we please hurry up and decide what we wanted, by a manager who then hovered over us while we chose q...
