After completing a Wine Tour which finish in the Monastery we thought we would stay for lunch in what is a fantastic setting with a beautiful restored building in a lovely location just above the village of St Mont. We ate in the courtyard which is pleasant, but had no views. Whilst it was comfortable the food quality was poor. The Turbot that I had was 'on the bone ' without the offer of filleting it. Okay perhaps no surprise but if that was the case then why no 'fish knives ' to help the filleting. In any case the portion was small and not that tasty either. Fantastic setting the building is beautiful as is the location atop the village of St Mont. We ate in the courtyard, which is pleasant, but uninspiring and has no views. Amuse bouche of lobster bisque and gougeres was very tasty intense lobster flavour. First course tartare of langoustine was tasty but a tad pappy in the mouth. Beef main course was very close to inedible, the meat was so chewy very poor indeed, especially when they make so much fuss about the Hereford beef and fancy Japanese BBQ! Nous avons été bluffés par ce restaurant.. il faudrait que le guide Michelin se bouge un peu pour venir le visiter, même s’il est un peu perdu car il mérite tres largement une étoile.. les saveurs sont subtiles.. les produits excellents plutôt haut de gamme.. c’est au sein d’un établissement charmant avec une très belle décoration.. le rapport qualité prix très bon.. nous y reviendrons..

Great place and superb cuisine orchestrated by a Belgian chef. Unmissable step in this beautiful region of the Gers certainly very male known by the inspectors of the Michelin who only put him a fork ... but chut tell them nothing, once they wake up and give to this beautiful table 1 or 2 well deserved macarons, the prices would increase ;
The food and the setting for this restaurant is great I have been there three times and I am never disappointed. The hosts are very personable and take the time to speak with the guests. I highly recommend this place especially for special occasions.
Ce fut une soirée magnifique et un éclatement des papilles du début à la fin du repas. Une belle découverte gustative et félicitations pour le chef. Les vins de Saint Mont, inconnus pour nous nous ont émerveillés et merci pour l’accueil.
Very nice plate in a charming setting. The service was impeccable and the agreement was generous and very well chosen. Everything was perfect! PS: arrive 1/4 an hour before to admire the 12th century Piété in the church of Monastery.
