La Placita Mexican Store

Had some elotes with beef and street tacos with steak. Both were absolutely delicious! The horchata was also really good! Also loved the hot sauce. Coming from Texas, I wasn't expecting to find too much in authentic Mexican food, but this is pretty authentic. My only complaint would be with the rice and beans as the taste seemed a bit off compared to what it tastes like at authentic places in Texas.

Fantastic place! Looks like they had recently moved to the store across the street. This is a legit taqueria. Even serving up tacos on homemade tortillas. Got horchata Al pastor . Had to shop the store for some conchas before we left. We found the spot for sure! Be back for that Al pastor, carnitas were bomb too

The tacos were delicious, and the beans and rice were fantastic too! I will definitely return. This place is a market that also serves as a restaurant. Just head inside and you'll find the ordering area on the left side.

It is hard to find quality authentic food from other countries in Cedar Falls/Waterloo. We were so excited to stumble upon this store/restaurant which features actual Mexican food!!

I grew up in California and this place made me feel at home with the AMAZING AUTHIC FAVOR. GREAT selection of food to buy and take home or eat there!

All the food Ive ordered from there over the last few days was very good. Nice meat counter and grocery selection as well. Fast friendly service.

Friendly waitress. Big portions. The food was hot and fresh. Best Mexican food I have had in along time. I will definitely be back.

The grocery store is well-stocked. Food is reasonably priced. Not a lot of vegetarian options.
