Ce restaurant est en pleine campagne; il faut le trouver. Mais quand vous arrivez, vous êtes charmé par le cadre. Nous avons pu manger dehors, dans le jardin. Le temps n'était pas certain alors on nous a installé plusieurs parasols pour nous abriter d'éventuelles gouttes de pluie. A la tombée du jour le jardin était éclairé par des lampions et c'était très romantique. La nourriture était généreuse et délicieuse. La viande était succulente et cuite juste comme il fallait. Un des chats de la maison a assuré le spectacle en apportant par deux fois le produit de sa chasse ... Le chef est un passionné de chevaux et nous avons pu discuter avec lui et voir une jument et son petit. C'était une excel...
Habitués de cet établissement depuis plusieurs années notre dernier repas à la Poudette a été plus que décevant. En effet, nous y avons amené un couple d' amis en juin et ça a été un régal du début à la fin du repas. Imaginez notre déception lorsque,accompagnés d'une amie que nous pensions régaler,nous sommes tombés de haut ...Le chef était-il absent ce jour là ?Bref, pas de saveur, viande (cochon noir de Bigorre ) sèche et mal accompagnée d'une polenta minimaliste et dessert d'une platitude affligeante ...Il faut se reprendre. Nous retenterons.
With very poor signage, this restaurant is hard to find, just off the D17 and D130 at La Rivière, below the village of Pujols. We booked dinner at short notice and were impressed at the quality of the food. Amuses bouchée were followed by a complimentary fish soup and cream, which was delicious. Starters were excellent, as was the perfectly cooked monkfish that we chose for the main course. Cherries and raspberries featured in our desserts. Local wine at a reasonable price. Highly recommended by our French friends and now also by us,
We gave it another try after not visiting this place for some years. Same problem as before, ok food, but again, portions by far too small, no sidedishes, breadbasket not refilled. Overal a disssapointing experience; These things are so easy to solve when a chef does not act like a greedy boss. Not too smart...

A fabulous menu comprising many home produced delicacies and delicious local produce and some lovely local wines, plus a rural atmospheric setting amongst the roses. Chef and hostess great fun and extremely welcoming - a truly lovely evening chez La Poudette.
Le meilleur restaurant que nous avons fait pendant notre séjour.Le cadre est génial dans une ambiance de ferme. Le service est fait simplement avec une grande gentillesse et avec classe. Le repas est succulent et digne d'un gastronomique.
Expensive but excellent food. The setting of the garden was lovely but the chairs a little uncomfortable, however the quality of the food and wine made up for any minor discomfort.

We had a wonderful meal here, thoughtfully presented, with interesting takes on traditional food. The wines were mostly local, and complemented the food.
