My partner and I arrived at Poule au Pot no more than a minute or two late for a 9:00 p.m. reservation that had been made through the restaurant 's online reservation system almost a month in advance. Upon arriving and greeting the host and mentioning our reservation in French, Thomas , responded to us in English that he did not have a reservation for us. When I showed him the confirmation email, he pointed at the date on the email that notes when the reservation was made and insisted that was the date of our reservation and that we had made a mistake. honestly I was expecting much more but seems to be a noisy,hectic place patronizing only by tourists and foreigners no French in a place selling teal and traditional French food it’s always suspicious) Overall an average experience in terms of food and service . The escargot full of parley but tasted bland , the bavette of beef aux poivre nothing special ,they do a little show assembling a dish already done in the kitchen just putting meat and sauce together besides I had a bavette bearnaise for lunch in a simple brasserie in town and meat was more juicy and tender . My wife had the great idea to invite me over there. The ' Poule au Pot' , traditional French meal that Henri IV and his minister Sully managed to introduce and make it popular. A national meal that every family should afford and enjoy. The legend is still alive: This unusual place, only open evening and night has a great traditional French decor. The music will remind you that you are in Paris, a romantic place if any.And what to say about food? We've broken our belly, my boyfriend and I. the egg inputs truffles I know more the rest of the short orders we loved .nos two servers hyper serviable and pro we conquered .au taquai for suggestions etc .auant well eaten and satisfied with our choices that we abandoned dessert. even the wine and the aperitif was we are Parisians we will go as soon as the envy comes.
