We decided to get away from the busy restaurants on the main squares and have a simple meal for our lunch out in Chateauroux. The owner was very welcoming (I'm a sucker for anyone complimenting my French! , but explained our options very simply. We had a plain green salad to start, some Cidre Doux, and raclette. The raclette comes with a plate of charcuterie, boiled potatoes and of course the melty cheese, which drips off the block as it is heated. At €50, it wasn't cheap, but it was tasty and I could imagine quite buzzy in an evening.
We found this restaurant just across from the Musee Bertrand on a rainy evening. The host was charming and offered us perfectly prepared enormous entrecôte barbecued in the fireplace. Thick cut crispy chips and gorgeous ice creams. With wine and two courses it came to under 25 euros each. They also do fondue and raclette. We'll be back.
The proprietor makes this restaurant the place it is. Quirky is one way of describing him but the evening was all the more enjoyable because of him. We had raclette and because it has a à volonte policy we probably enjoyed it too much! We were there on a Friday evening and soon all the tables were full of locals- always a good sign.
Repas très bon, rien à dire sur la raclette. Par contre, patron, très limite, dans ses propos, malaisant, déplacé… Mes amis et moi avons été mal à l’aise durant notre repas. Nous ne reviendrons plus.
Petit nuit de samedi a dimanche chambre tres agréable ey fort sympathique et la cuisine était parfaite, le responsable est super gentil et très agréable je recommande ce lieu.. Cool.. ..
Une expérience particulière mais agréable. On ne s'attendait pas à ça. Hors saison, le maître des lieux s'adapte et fournit du produit frais, cuit au feu de bois. Très agréable.
Bon accueil. Ambiance vide. Pas de musique. Humour particulier. Patron un peu envahissant. Pas beaucoup de choix dans la carte. Charcuterie à volonté.
On a bien manger et bien rigoler je conseil se restaurant attention au choix sois raclette ou fondue rien d’autre mais très bien
C était un pèlerinage pour moi et c est toujours aussi bien je conseille vivement
