Myself and two other ladies are walking the Camino Frances. We booked three rooms with “ Mike from Texas” a full year ago. When we show up in town after a rather long and difficult walk, he simply tells us that he gave our rooms away to a corporate group. Oops. We had a confirmed reservation with booking.com and he just ignored it apparently to get bigger money from a group. Then tried to send us across the street to a single room with three beds and a shared bath. Nowhere near equal in value to what we were paying. We begged him for our rooms and he turned us away. Mike obviously does not care about pilgrims walking the Camino- only about the money. DONT MAKE RESERVATIONS HERE-HE HAS NO HON...

After a few hours walking in blistering heat we arrived at the village hot, aching and very thirsty. The establishment is in a great position at the top of the village where weary travellers are likely to stop before heading further into town. However, there is more to this place than just the ideal location. When we arrived one of the staff (owners? was cooking crepes in the beer garden we decided to eat a couple of slices from the counter inside the batillion was very tasty. We had tinto verano to drink which were just what we needed to cool down, although the iced mint water that some other customers had looked just as refreshing.

After you scramble down the muntain top on the Camino this hotel and coffee house is a welcome sight. I thoroughly recommend stopping off here for some of their home made food and excellent coffee. They also have accommodation for those on the Camino. Under new management, this husband and wife team provide a wonderfu friendly welcome to a village which must be one of the jewels on the Camino. The new owner has excellent English thanks to his time living in Ireland (Sligo, Kilkenny and Leitrim).

What a welcomed Oasis after a long hard morning hike , a cosy warm welcoming restaurant awaited us with staff smiling further extending the welcome . Being a couple of Vegan vegetarian eaters we have found it difficult in Spain ...but here we are we had the best vegetable lentil soup, extra special Spanish omelette and specially made best ever veggie boccadillos!!!! Thank you so much guys! Five star for you in every way

Immediately on the left as you enter Acebo. I can’t recommend this place enough. The new managers are two Australians and an American with fluent Spanish. They made us so welcome and we spent a lovely night here. Evening meal (delicious) is available for guests and breakfast too (also healthy and delicious). There is a small shop as well as a cafe/bar (nice cakes) and the room was warm, clean and comfortable.

Stopped at this amazing gem of a place and had one of the best salads I have ever eaten. I joined a friend from Madrid--a regular on the Camino, and several other hikers. I split a beautiful large salad and delicious sandwich with my hiking partner. I have been home for several weeks and the memory of this meal lingers. Thank you Mike!

Exceeded expectations A beautiful spot to recharge before you continue down the hill. Mike and his team are charming hosts and were very accomodating when we arrived late in the day in need of a good meal! Please note this has changed ownership in the last few months so you may want to disregard the older reviews.

We stopped here for breakfast on our Camino. The food and service was amazing! Great tortilla and espresso. I would have liked to have seen the owner/manager be nicer to his staff. He was pretty hard on them, and they were working really hard, providing great quality food and service.

spend a weekend in this rural house, the very owner, gets involved and cares because everything is in your drop. the typical house of the area with a terrace and unbeatable views of the lions. I will certainly repeat!
