As our normal fave place in Calais was closed we ventured in here instead. Place is only small and is just off the main road so you have to seek it out a little to find it. Strikes me as a hidden gem for local Calais folk. (We were only Brits in the place) The menu is short but there is enough choice for most I would think. All dishes were quite excellent (my prawns were a little gritty but that's maybe a French thing) all our dishes were well presented and clearly made with high quality ingredients. Very disappointing. We had driven from Troyes to Calais and had selected this restaurant for lunch, based on the great reviews (not just the food but the very friendly service). We arrived there, looking forward to a nice lunch before taking the Shuttle to the UK. The restaurant was busy but there was clearly a table free. My husband went in to ask for a table for two and was ignored by a very dismissive waiter who didn’t even bother to reply and just turned his back on him! I don’t know if this was just one rude individual but he certainly let the restaurant down. This was a shock as we have always found French customer service to be very courteous and polite. We found somewhere else to eat...
This is the highlight of our visit to Calais! The staff are so friendly and plant decorations make us fell like home. With a mixture of exotic flavour, the sauce is something I haven't tasted before, so it is very nice if you'd like to try something new. Beef is tender even though we have it well done! Everything is out of expectations, many thanks to the staff!
Very good food. Terrific combination of marrocan, azian, french cuisine! Friendly staff. I would recommend it to anyone. Oh and our dog was also welcome.
