The food was excellent and everyone in our group enjoyed their meal. However, the service was a bit strange as we were informed upon arrival that we might be asked to leave within an hour. At the end of our meal, the wait staff seemed hesitant to offer us dessert in order to free up the table. We understand that it's a small restaurant and we were a party of six, but the situation could have been handled with more delicacy and possibly communicated better when making a reservation. It was disappointing to have our meal overshadowed by feeling rushed to leave.
A local gem for a nonlocal. Food was good. However, I found the soup in the Bouillabaise a bit salty. That was why the waitress only asked you if you want pepper instead of salt and pepper. I prefer all my food to be less salty. Otherwise, I would have given a slightly higher rating for the food. The ambience is a neighborhood French restaurant which you won't miss since there are lots of French flags taped to the walls.
la saveur is a popular local restaurant in balmain. the personal is always beautiful and welcoming and the cook has spent time in frankreich so that eating is excellent and authentic. I recommend la saveur balmain to anyone looking for a beautiful meal, our faves on the menu are the suppe à l’oignon, coq au vin, the seafood cake special and crêpes citron.
I had a wonderful experience dining at this restaurant. The French dishes were delicious and authentically prepared, and the prices were very reasonable. The service was exceptional and the cozy atmosphere of the restaurant added to the overall experience. Thank you for a great meal!
