We stayed on my wife's birthday for 1 night. The hotel is beautiful and we upgraded to the junior suite. Most staff were great. Only issue we had was there was no hot water the next morning. Reception did explain they were doing all they could but we ended up having to have a strip wash using hot water from the kettle before we checked out! The woman at the desk didn't seem to understand that we wanted to be clean before we made our journey home. Given the amount we spent for 1 night stay I would have expected they would have offered us to stay passed checkout time in order to get clean. ...but they didn't. Overall nice hotel, polite staff and perfect location!
I had a business dinner in this restaurant. Being used to dining in Paris, the first thing that struck me was the service, which was certainly doing its best but did not seem very well trained. While the white wine was ok, the red wine accompanying our meal was cheap, and did not come in bottles - they probably did not want us to see the label. The main course was a french classic, and they got it right, but the starter was a bit disappointing - not bad, but without any touch of originality. I understand we had a negotiated rate, which may explain my disappointment - I know from others having been there and paying the regular menu that they can do better.
It was the first day of summer, and the streets of Fontainebleau were bursting with people dancing to loud music. We looked for a quiet place for dinner, and were rewarded with a 5-course food/wine pairing at Hotel Napoleon. The dining room faced an inner courtyard that was very pleasant. The food was excellent, starting with a delicious soup, to the foie gras on greens, then the sea bass course, beef course, then delicious chocolate dessert. Each course paired with the perfect French wines from Champagne to Bordeaux reds. It was a romantic evening, and we had an excellent time.
We had wonderful a la carte dinner the first night of our France vacation. We also stayed at the hotel opposite to the garden entrance of Fontainebleau. The restaurant is very classic in appearance, red carpet. Gentlemen serving the food a little overly correct (stiff) later on they loosened up a bit and became more friendly which added to the nice quiet atmosphere. No English speaker present at all. But the food, the food was fantastic, wonderful sauces, great wines, we had a great lovely time. We instantly fell in love with France cuisine (again).

What would you expect? This is a charming place, a refined restaurant in front of the Chateau and giving on a green and elegant terrasse.The service is kind and easy. The menu simple and promising. And the food is just lovely, tasty, sophisticated yet not pretentious.Beautiful wine list. The pouilly fumé is WoW! Fruity and marvelously selected. I chose the "salade de homard" and the Tuna steak. Perfect. A good friendly light moment. Before diner, please take a few minutes to enjoy the evening golden light on the chateau. Very unique. S
1st night in this hotel day J of reopening: what a nice surprise! Welcome to the top by a very professional and enthusiastic team, perfect atmosphere, beautiful decoration, perfect service, breakfast in the beautiful wooded interior courtyard, spa to the top: all in a city to discover for a small we disturbing with in bonus the visit of the magnificent Chateau de Fontainebleau.
It was some time since I had eaten in the restaurant and the food had improved and we had a nice meal, if a bit expensive. Service was slow (but restaurant was full - including a party). There is no air-conditioning, just fans. The courtyard is pretty and nice to eat out in the evening, so long as you are a smoker! A bit disappointing.
We came with 20 friends for a celebration dinner. They put us in 3 table at the back of the restaurant.The welcoming was great, we had great champagne and a few hors d'oeuvres in the patio. We then moved to the restaurant.We had a fantastic bisque, moved to a great red meat, cheese and a very refined dessert.Great experience!

Exceptionnelle la cuisine dans ce restaurant, nous avons rarement dîner aussi bien à un prix aussi raisonnable ! Au menu : homard accompagné de pâtes extrêmement bien cuites et assaisonnées. Quant à la carte des vins, elle aussi est bien achalandée. Une visite s’impose !!!
A romantic setting on their lovely back terrace. We had the carte blanche and no regrets. Spectacular and attentive service. Hoping to go back soon!
