Climbed to the top of the Saleve today in the snow and was looking forward to a drink and something warm to eat. not too much of an ask you would think!?Ah - but then I should have known not to go to this restaurant.We arrived and were snapped at by the waitress as we suggested we might like to eat. We found a table and patiently waited - as we could see she was busy. The fact that the table and plates still there were both covered in cold, congealed food, we overlooked and enjoyed getting warm and enjoying the view. This is what happened next:- Waitress comes out and demands that we move to a table that is clean (this is after having sat there for 20 mins)- As we move, another group arrives...
I think this has been the worse experience in a restaurant I have ever had. The food was lousy, the waitress didnt even bother to put a plate mat for us. We were three people; she first brought two forks and one knife, then took...the fork, let the knife. Then she brought the rest of the set and just put it in the table as she gave us two serviettes for three people. The food was just the worse I have ever had anywhere. We ordered drinks, but the drinks never came. one almost felt intimidated to ask for drinks. I can only say that next time you take a hike, just make sure you dont end up to this restaurant. This unique restaurant perched on the edge of the Mont Salève, overlooking all of Geneva at meters, will take some effort to reach if coming from the city. You can reach by public transport if you take the Bus to its terminus at...Veyrier Douane, and then walk into France to the cable car (Telepherique) station. This takes less than min. and is easy to find by signs. At the top of the Saleve it will be a minute walk UP the hill to the Tibetan Buddhist monastery. The restaurant is connected to the monastery and around the back. It is possible to drive here but I haven't done it. Food is vegetarian, presented in a self-serve buffet style. Remember to carry Euros if coming from Geneva.
this unique restaurant at the rande of the mont salève, with views of all genf on 1200 meters, will reach some effort when coming from the city. they can reach by public transport if they take the bus 8 to its end station at the...Veyrier douane and then go to the cable car (telepherique) station in france. this takes less than 10 min and is easy to find by signs. at the top of the saleve it will be a 15-20 minute foot high the hill to the Tibetan Buddhist monastery. the restaurant is connected to the monastery and around the back. it's possible to drive here, but I didn't. eating is vegetarian, presented in a self-served buffet style. remember to wear euro when coming out.
We were just taking a trip up to the mount Saleve with the Telepherique. A nice trip with marvellous view. We had an ice cream and enjoyed the surroundings when we saw i sign that marked a short route to the top with a restaurant....It was really a short route, but step. Even our five year old doughter made the trip keeping good spirit Well up at the top we where rewarded with an even more breathtaking view. We also ended up in the monestery/restaurant. The food was good Asian food and the staff were serviceminded and friendly. We do recommend you all to pay them a visit.
we just wanted to ride with the telepherique to mount saleve. a beautiful trip with magnificent views. we had an ice cream and enjoyed the environment when we saw that I sign that marked a short stretch up with a restaurant. it was really a short distance, but step. also our five-year-old doughter made the trip with good spirit well up at the top, where we rewarded with an even more stunning outsight. we also ended up in Monestery/Restaurant. eating was good Asian cuisine and the staff was serviceminded and friendly. we recommend to visit them all.
Visited this amazing restaurant. It works only sundays for the moment, from noon till owners has changed, all staff changed,now there is self-service,tibetian and Indian kitchen, not so big choice,but the prices are reasonable,everything is tasty and fresh,I liked Lassy very much!! Will come...back again for sure. P.S. for lunch is better to make reservation
