We chanced upon La Taverne Provençale when we decided, on the spur of the moment, to visit the hilltop village of Gourdon. The spacious terrace, with its stunning views down to the coast, was already fairly full but, despite our lack of reservation, we were warmly welcomed, a table swiftly found for us and two apéritifs arrived with the comprehensive menu, including daily specials. The food was simply excellent, particularly my own farandole of traditional stuffed vegetables. Our wonderful waiter, Grégoire, took great care of us and indulged me in my efforts to practice my rusty French. Desserts were also absolutely delicious. restaurant very well placed in the heart of the village, with view, good cuisine without pretention, but for the price we expect some best dishes presented. and given the warm atmosphere and welcome, it is worth time:
Unbearable view. Good cooking. not necessarily original, but everything was good and well cooked. ratio quality normal price. No waiting while there were people. efficient and pleasant waitress, we will return.
It was very good, the main dishes seem to be allied. small dish for crushing the potato that had the taste of hot and tatin served barely hot, not really caramelized and without cream.
