La Trouvaille - Tisch resevieren

The overall experience made all members of our family very happy. The view on the Loire River and the skyline of Blois was unique. The selection of wines, appetizers and main courses was just perfect. Not too many items to choose from, but everyone was very pleased with what they ordered. Of course, we all shared tasting from each other’s dish. Our family was traveling across France with a couple from Chicago. We stopped in Blois to begin our visit of the Loire Valley and had lunch at La Trouvaille. The couple from Chicago said they had one of their best meals in that restaurant. I highly recommend it for those who wish to sample authentic French cuisine at affordable prices.

Found this place by chance, looking for a parking spot! Located on the 'wrong' bank of the Loire, opposite the chateau. The place was packed at lunch (good sign). It is half specialist wine bar, half restaurant. House smoked salmon, casserole of frogs legs - doesn't get more French than that - braised Guinea fowl, rich with poultry flavour and falling off the bone. As you would expect from a wine specialist, great choices by the glass instead of the usual forgettable cheap stuff. Lovely staff who take pride in their offerings. Lunch will set you back no more than about 20-25 euros. As the Michelin guide would say: worth the detour!

We went here because of the positive Trip advisor reviews. The server was very friendly and explained the menu to us in English. We ordered a pork shop, some kind of white fish, beef tartar, and 3 kinds of cheeses. The food was nicely presented and fresh. The pork chop was really tender. The fish was done nicely and my husband enjoyed his beef tartar. This is the kind of restaurant where you know there is a chef in the kitchen who knows what he's doing. We had a pleasant experience here and would go back again.

Searched this out for lunch following a recommendation. It is across the river from the centre of the town of Blois via the main bridge. The place was packed with locals, while the bistro next door was effectively empty; always a telling sign. We went for the Plat du Jour and from a choice of three dishes fish in a butter sauce with rice, sausage with puy lentils or a salad, we both went for the fish. It is a pleasant location near the river with a view to the castle. I wouldn't call it exactly fine dining, but it was ok as an overall experience. The food is tasty, but the service can improve. There is no English menu and the staff does not make too much effort to help. Our local host recommended us the place and it seemed indeed not a tourist trap.

We'd been cycling all morning children aged 15, 13. 10 and 8. We were ready for lunch. Really delivered, great with children who had their fabulous children's menu. Jen declared it a fabulous salad nicoise and my bavette as ever fabulously understated. Lewi a truculent 15 loved both his duck and massive ice cream Back to the bikes

We found this restaurant by chance, but it turned out to be a lovely and tasetful dinner. the waitress was very friendly and halpfull in English, and the food was tasty. A recommanded restaurant in Blois.

Stopped in for some wine in the late afternoon. Had a delicious local wine recommended by the proprietor, who also gave us tapenade and croutons. Recommend for a glass of wine and snacks. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch

Food was ok only. There wasn't anything bad about the food, but there certainly wasn't anything to either rave about or worth going back for. Service was excellent though.

We ate in this restaurant a lot while staying in blois. The food is amazing particularly the deserts. The cafe gourmand is a must.
