My wife and I visited DC to celebrate our baby moon and had made a reservation for brunch at La Vie. Upon arrival, we were told that the entire restaurant had been booked for a private event and that they could not accommodate us. This was extremely unprofessional! When we made our reservation, this was never mentioned, and we received no call from the restaurant to inform us of the change. We were turned away, forcing me to find another brunch spot at the last minute, which was challenging with my pregnant wife. From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, we were met with pretentious decor and an atmosphere that screamed 'trying too hard. ' The prices on the menu were as inflated as the egos of the staff, who seemed more interested in showing off than actually providing good service. The food, while presented beautifully, lacked flavor and left us feeling disappointed and ripped off. Save your money and dine elsewhere this overrated establishment is definitely not worth the hype.
This was my first visit to the restaurant, and I was fortunate to have Dalton and Delsis as our servers. They were truly wonderful, warm-hearted individuals who kept us laughing throughout the night and were incredibly attentive to our needs. Thanks to them, our experience was delightful. The atmosphere was lovely, and the food was delicious. I highly recommend this place for any event!
The venue is obviously gorgeous. Everything else is merely okay. I had the lobster risotto. My husband ordered the branzino. Both of us felt that we’ve had better elsewhere and as expected it was very overpriced. If you do decide to visit, I recommend going in the day/evening time so that you can see the view as opposed to late night when it’s completely dark outside.

We booked a table (for main restaurant) based on the published full menu. As we were seated we were presented with a small/mezze style menu as the main dining area was being used for a private party. Luckily we could find an alternative restaurant. Very disappointed.
The food was great and the service was too. If you want fancy surroundings and a nice view this is the place, but you will pay extra for that. If you are looking for just great food there are other less expensive options.
Drinks were way overpriced and showy but not very tasty. Food was good but overpriced for overly dressed Caesar salad, small portions and sides were small for $17 each. Would not return
The food, the drinks, the ambience!!!everything was amazing. My waiter Ever, was amazing. Thank you La vie for showing my mom a wonderful time for her birthday.

Our waiter was attentive and highly accommodating. Food was delicious and creative with excellent portion size. Loved the vegetable sides! Beautiful setting.
It was my partner's birthday, and she enjoyed it immensely!
