We had passed the hotel many times and made an effort to be there for lunch, but when we arrived it was all closed up. To complicate matters so was the hotel reception and as we were on our way back to the car someone, who we discovered was one of the owners cam running after us. So why the confusion. We were told that the hotel restaurant only opens in the evenings, but the bistro,in the grounds of the hotel opens for lunch. To be frank the bistrot is rather plain, with no real divisions between the tables in this square and uninteresting box. The welcome however, ' after our fall at the first ' was warm and welcoming, one of the owners having lived in an area of the UK we know quite well....
We stayed here on our way down to Southern France. The hotel was originally the main house to a vineyard and all the rooms have been renovated to a very high standard in somewhat of a classy 'shabby chic ' style. We stayed in the economy room which was very comfortable with on suite facilities if a little on the small side but (which is most important) a very comfy bed. The proprietor could not have been more helpful and the food we had was delicious. We would defiantly stay there again and can recommend it . It would be ideal to explore the nearby city of Bergerac.

Just west of Bergerac on the road towards Bordeaux you will find La Villa St-Laurent with a restaurant and Le Bistro 71. We just had lunch at the Bistro and had the most exquisite meal we have experienced in a very long time. First of all, the way we felt welcome by the proprietor who really knew what he was talking about when he served the aperitif and recommended the wine. The food; a delicious chicken and likewise entrecote of Angus meat. Top! The whole atmosphere radiated competence and pride in having guests. We will definitely be back! Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
William and Joseph who run the hotel and its restaurants are clearly passionate about food. We stayed here for two nights and had some of the best meals we've ever tasted authentic but innovative French dining with the highest quality ingredients. The menu was fantastic and very reasonably priced for what was a five star dining experience. Delicious wine and helpful recommendations for combining food and wine.
I spent a great night in this hotel. the reception is friendly, friendly. the room was spacious, the bed linen of very good quality. Unfortunately, I couldn't test the restaurant, but given the passion the boss talks about it, I'll be back soon. Thanks again to you william for your professionalism and your welcome! It's very fast!
Joseph is passionate about food and never fails to produce top quality, ridiculously tasty and well presented at affordable prices. I have never eaten better at any restaurant.
