The best weather in weeks... so we couldn't resist going for the 1000 meters plus ascent through the Golden Filming of October. Once on the pass, we left the bikes in teh Alpes View Self Service Cafeteria and went to the last...summit in 1424m. Great view around you; definitely once in a life runner when you are in this part of Europe. The Alsacien Pastry makes it for us: four cheeses of the duck breast quiche!! A decent Kronembourg and the descent have doubled out;
Of course you come to this place to enjoy the view while you have a drink / snack, not for the wonderful kitchen. It is a typical self-service buffet place, but prices are reasonable and value for money. I had a cheese plate for only 5,20 EUR and... that was a very good part of 4 different cheeses. on the road to the cretes at the pass, you will find this restaurant, often crowded, given the number of tourists present in this place. the kitchen is medium, but copier, and the reception is good and the tables have a splendid view. ideal place for a pose at the top of the ball. nice little ballad to the observatory (15)' with a 360° view to breathe.

for the bike hiker that I am this establishment is an ideal step after climbing the difficult big ball: you find everything you can desire at any time of the day in self service (drinks, breakfast, dishes etc.). all in a friendly atmosphere. the room offers a magnificent view of the Swiss Alps when the sky is clear.
Amazing twisted roads on the way up, amazing twisted roads on the way down. Good view, good coffee, and considering that it is quite a jailed market for them, they were not over a fee. Great place to meet with other buddies and spend a pleasant hour.

We have been going there for long years, simple and warm welcome, varied and good meals, very good blueberry pie prepared by the chef, and a splendid view.
