What a quaint and cozy place- complete with a few snowflakes on cold afternoon on Irving Place! The service was exceptional! They really doted on us, even as the restaurant filled up! I loved the tea pairings so you could try different things and not necessarily commit to one type. Everything was delish- the desserts were good, but the finger sandwiches were fabulous with some interesting flavor combos. It's pricey, but the atmosphere and service are worth it!
The food was altogether very good. Best scones I ever had and the crepe cake was amazing. For me all the sandwiches were a bit too sweet, but my friends enjoyed them a lot. Open table messed up our reservation, made and confirmed for 5pm. The day before I got a message from lady mendel's saying last reservation had to be at 4pm. We accepted and they very graciously offered us a free glass of Prosecco each.
Wonderful! Beautiful location welcomed from the minute my daughter and I walked into the Victorian brownstone. The decor was fabulous and the 5 course tea was delicious! The tea was piping hot and all the courses freshly prepared m. We did not feel rushed and would definitely recommend this charming spot for tea on your next visit to NYC. The service was top notch!
We had a lovely time here. Being British and being in New York for just under two weeks we were ready for a spot of afternoon tea and it didn't disappoint. From the lovely warm welcome and delicious sandwiches and treats we were in heaven. The building itself is beautiful and you feel like you've been invited to tea in a stately home. Thank you! We loved Lady Mendls. The layout is lovely. The attentive servers were wonderful. The food paired with the various teas were delicious. We were so happy we did the tea pairing...each selection was perfect with the food. The Sandwiches, Scones, Desserts all delish. Great time with my Daughter...This was our favorite place for Tea to date! Go!!!!!
Whimsical, colorful, beautiful interiors with gracious hospitality. Our server was welcoming, the service was impeccable, and the food was delicious! We had the tea pairing and it was perfect. NYC is so hectic and there is so much to see, but making time to just sit and BE is worth it. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and made a great memory.
Lady Mendl's is always a favorite place to go for some quite gossip and to spend the day away. The Foods always amazing and is filling. The cocktails are amazing and I would recommend the hot Cider spiked. The sandwich are my favorite out of all the other tea places in NYC. Been here 4 times now, and will keep coming back.
The scones were warm from the oven ! The service was amazing! This is a lovely place but be prepared to pay $200 for two! My only complaint is that I like my tea steaming hot and this was not -the English breakfast is not as strong as it should be The place is brautyjust sitting there feels like a treat!! Very lovely place with wonderful tea, food, and service. Staff are friendly and on top of everything. We were not rushed which was very nice. Will definitely recommend to my friends and would like to come back!
