This was my first time visiting this restaurant, and I'm sorry I hadn't visited before! We had just been turned away from Danos (which I'll be reviewing next) where we had a terrible welcome, and the flattest service I've experienced in the Golden Triangle) So the warm welcome we received at this restaurant was very refreshing. The chap opened the door for us, and was genuinely warm and welcoming. He led us to a great table in this modest but extremely comfortable restaurant. We ordered some house wine (delicious and easy to drink) and a number of items from the menu. The food came in good time, and was of excellent quality. WORST CURRY EVER!!! I know that is a bold statement but I was really disappointed with the curry we ordered this evening. We ordered over the phone and took prompt delivery of: Chicken Rogan Josh Prawn Sag Mushroom Pilau rice naan bread I ask for the curry to be done in as little oil as possible (a healthier version which I have had from many other Indians in the past) Well, see the pictures, the rogan josh had so much oil in it. The mushroom rice was full of 20 bits of burnt spices that were left in making it difficult to eat. The curry was tasteless and to top it of this cost 35euro's (portion sizes we tiny see the containers). I phoned the Resturant to complain and all I got was a sorry!...
My wife is vegetarian and so was struggling with the food choices in the half board hotel so we came here for a change. The restaurant doesn't look much when you are looing up from the Marina but don't be fooled. This place produced some of the best Indian food I have ever eaten. The service is really good and friendly and the portion sizes are quite large. When I came back home I was talking to my Indian newsagent and he goes here when he comes to Vilamoura ans loves this place.
I’m here as I write this! Totally amazing. I love Indian cuisine and I’m always a little sceptical when abroad. The staff are amazing. The owner was amazing even Junior . Tandoori prawns amazing! It was really good indian food. The service was very prompt and friendly. We had the vegetable biryani, paneer and mushroom curry with naan naan was super soft and hot . Very satisfying to find such gems far from our home.
There are new owners the restaurant is now called Gandhi Pallace.Unfortunately the food is not the same brilliant taste.After many years we will not visit the new restaurant again.
Outstanding quality food at a reasonable price served by friendly and attentive staff. I recommend this restaurant if you need your curry ‘fix’ while you are visiting The Algarve.
