I FINALLY FOUND IT. Literally five years since having saffron Gelato at Allegro in Tucson, and three years after finding out this place makes saffron ice cream only to learn their location on Valley View is an empty office, I happened to drive by a Super King on a shopping trip with a friend from school. After shopping, I raced* back to the Super King, remembering that the place sells Laleh ice cream, praying that they have my flavor in stock. I'm in luck. They do. It's pricey, as artisan ice cream tends to be, but cheaper than Allegro ever was. When I get home, it's every bit as wonderful a I remember it being. It's different in texture and a little more floral and it has little cream chips...
