I’m originally from South Carolina, so anytime I get a chance to eat Soul Food it’s a treat. We decided to try Lamar and Niki’s Pit BBQ and Soul Food while visiting our daughter in College Station, and the visit did not disappoint. I had the two meat BBQ, I chose ribs and brisket with potato salad, cornbread, onion and pickles, and cornbread dressing and gravy (you get to choose sides from a variety of options). My daughter had a 2 meat meal as well, she chose brisket, sausage, cabbage, green beans, and cornbread. My wife had a one meat meal, and she chose ox tail( which she had never eaten before), cabbage, sweet potatoes, and cornbread. The food was excellent! My only complaint is I ate to...
I love the food and most of all the owners and the staff. However, I blame them for the weight I've gained for the past few years..just kidding..but the food is delicious. I love Lamar, Nikki (owners) and their wonderful staff, especially Billie Ross. She always have a ready smile. If you haven't visited them please go. Oh my god! If you want to eat the best, come here! Not only are they super nice and friendly, but the food is also amazing. I've never had such delicious dishes before. This place really knows how to satisfy your taste buds. They have different specials every day and a grill night on Saturdays, so there is always something new to try. I really like their concept, I think it's very clever! I highly recommend it. And on Wednesdays, they have an amazing special that you must try!
Bruh. Hit that navigate to button and get on over to this amazing spot. The food is made with love, the ribs were awesome but the meatloafmm... I'm literally been dreaming about having that same meatloaf again. Let's talk about the staff it's small joint and they don't just welcome you in as a customer they treat you as family. Some of the best food I’ve tasted. Lamar and Niki are two very nice people that put their ankle in their food. They go above and beyond with service too, told me whenever I come to just call ahead and let them know Tony from college station was comin and they’ll help me out ??
I have to say, this restaurant has become one of my top favorites in the city. The food is delicious and the prices are very reasonable, especially when you consider the generous portion sizes. I believe I paid $12 for everything in the photo, as well as a Dr. Pepper.
One word after eating at Lamar Niki’s nap. This is that food that’ll have you reconsidering life because you’ll be ashamed of how much food you just ate and that your stomach doesn’t have room for more. Great people, feels like home.
