we went there to a birthday party with dear friends who go quite often there. they commented that the wine cellar is amazing and eating is average. they were not wrong. Unfortunately we had a very bad service that lasted an hour and a half to get our salatstarter. my man and I went to the filet steak that was already cut when it arrived. we were so hungry that we could not complain and maybe wait another hour for a replacement, it was ok quality. only not representative for the cost. others had the black and a carving that were much better value and quality. the winery is the most incredible thing I've ever seen. the personal was kind and quite covered. Best wine list in the world, really? Yes! Basically this is amazing in terms of value for money and selection of mature wines especially Sauternes. And I love mature wines. Where else can you taste a 1955 domaine de chevalier for less than 200 USD...or a 1917 Coutet for less than 500 USD without taking the cork risk? Not even at home! Reataurant is specialized on free range, grass fed pork with their own production, which is unique and which is why they have a pork tatare, which is amazingly good. Great restaurant with the most amazing wine list. Go there whenever you can!
We spontaneously went there for dinner after a 5 hrs hike. The food was ok, great wine great wine sommelier, nightmare of the chef de service. Barking in short sentences at the guests with impersonal quick spurts! The worst was when she asked if we...wanted to keep the white wine glasses for our over 100 francs Bordeaux wine! And even went ahead to try and convince us that this is common practice! We asked if they were a hotel as well. The answer yes, but not tonight we fully booked. Insulting and assuming attitude! She need to tone down and remember her role!

This was our first trip to Europe and the highlight of our journey was the Farnsburg Inn. The Innkeepers (Andres and Beatrice) made us feel like family. The food was the best we had ever had in all of our travels. The presentation of the...food, from the salad to the dessert left you wanting for more. If you have a chance to visit this wonderful slice of heaven please put it on your trip agenda!
Great restaurant, it now is two years we regularly come here and have found only some small flaws that simply make us appreciate the place even more.Local bio fare, great wines and the quiet one enjoys here make even a week end more testful than many more publicised spots.This is a landgasthof which means a country inn, so don't expect grand hotel treatment.Will be coming back pretty often.

We had an excellent time at the Landgasthof Farnsburg. This restaurant serves fresh organic food, all home made and really high quality. They have a gigantic wine cellar which you can visit and pick your wine. The service was outstanding, and they are very attentive...to kids. Dies ist ein Ort, an dem man nach einer entspannten Auszeit die Welt aus einem anderen Blickwinkel betrachten kann. Service, Essen, Natur und Menschen sind absolut fantastisch. Nach dem Kindermenü sollte man das Ei probieren.
