On a hot market day, we headed for a nice table in the shade. and waited. and waited. and waited, whilst trying to catch the eye of the two servers.Finally went into the restaurant to ask for some service.Ordered steaks off the menu (not the salads, which seemed to be the most popular choice amongst other visitors). Then waited, and waited, and waited, and watched others who had arrived after us get their salads.After 45 minutes went to the restaurant to ask after our food. Food came - cold, and not really very good at all. Having seen the huge salads that came out, we were very disappointed with the portion size for a dish twice the price. We stumbled upon this lovely wee square late on Saturday morning - lovely setting. There looked to be 3 bars, 2 of which were packed, and so we had no choice but to sit at the empty one. The waitress told us they didn't start serving till 12, which made us feel better about it being empty. We just sat and enjoyed some people watching for ten minutes, and the the waitress came back and took our order. The goats cheese salad looked huge, as did the seafood salad, but we quickly discovered they consisted mainly of lettuce. Very disappointing. The food looked better than it was, and it was expensive for what you got, ie lettuce... The service was sloooowwwwwww. The only saving grace was the two...
Poor menu selection (4 out 6 were steak, 1 fish, 1 herb omelette). All steak over cooked, faux steak was like an old boot. dishes themselves were a bit odd in the way they were put together. Chips were ok though. Crime brûlée was burnt and bitter on top, and ice cream had squirty whipped cream all over the top of it sprinkled with brown sugar?????? All deserts had that. All suggests an experienced chef that has no clue, maybe Gordon Ramsey could visit and sort out. Only 1 lady (very nice) serving the whole place so service was slow, tables not cleared, finished glasses not cleared. Expensive meal, won't return probably like most people, shame as a great location.
We sat outside on a beautiful day on the terrace of l'Annexe. Our waitress was very nice and we were quickly waited on. I ordered a steak which was good but the "ratatouille" vegetable side was very strange with no sauce and very little flavor like frozen vegetables or possibly steamed. My husband's Salade Chevre Chaud had cold chevre cheese on toast, not hot and melted as it should be, two very small slices of melon and the jambon pays turned out to be plain old packaged ham. There was bottled dressing on it as well. I don't recommend this place for a meal but maybe just a drink.

Waited 15 minutes and the staff didn't even take our drinks order. Yes, they were busy but that isn't an excuse for 2 tables of people who arrived at least 10-12 minutes after us to be served. When I complained (in French) as I was leaving I didn't even get an apology. They tried to say it wasn't their fault. No, not their fault it is busy, but YES their fault that they served 2 other tables before us.15 minutes et nous n'est pas servir! Il y a deux tables de personnes qui arrive apres nous, qui sont servir avant! Pas bonne service!
Ate here on Sunday night – a few other restaurants were closed but this place had a few tables in use and offers a pleasant outdoor setting. Menu is a bit limited – just a blackboard a with a fixed set but we managed to find something.The food was good – well cooked and well presented. Service a little slap-dash but still enjoyed the experience overall . Prices just about ok – I wouldn’t want to go any higher.
I live in St Jean and I've eaten in this restaurant many times over the last few years, quality of food and service has always been good.....until the last few months when both food and service quality have plummeted. My last experience last week,15 Sept 2016, was of an omelette burnt on one side and uncooked inside with ungrated and unmelted cheese inside.My complaint received neither interest nor apology
We had an evening meal outside in the Square. Service was good, the food we had was nice but nothing amazing but then we didn't expect amazing. Sadly several of the desserts were 'off' the menu. Pleasant enough.

Although it took a while to be served it was worth the wait. Friendly service, very helpful and great food. Lovely setting in the outside, enjoying the sun and people watching.
This was the only place open on the Sunday night so didn't have much choice. We ordered steak which was very fatty. Overall we didn't enjoy the meal which was a shame.
