Wasn't aware of the Lanterne Rouge until I cycled up to it en route from Bridge of Allan to Berwick on Tweed. Was short on time and flagging, so pulled in for a double espresso take away. Really cheerful service, the chap/owner offered a top...u if I needed it which was a great touch. Served up the espresso really quick, passed it to me for payment, I put it on the floor and the wind blew it over. Without me even asking the guy/owner was straight back into the cafe to press me another espresso to replace my disaster. Amazing espresso, fantastic service. Wish I had more time to pop in for a scone. Thank you so much.
The first thing that struck me upon entering was just how friendly and attentive my server (who turned out to be the owner) was. The coffee that was served was absolutely top notch. The scone and jam were also tremendous. I left feeling ready for...the onward journey into the hills with happy memories of a very friendly establishment. What a little gem in Gifford. Suitable for cyclists, runners (like me) and anyone else in need of a really nice coffee and scone. The rest of the menu looked good too. I'll be back soon to try.
I had a great experience at Lanterne Rouge in Gifford. I was early for an appointment and was recommended to stop by for coffee. The owner warmly welcomed me and I enjoyed a fantastic black coffee. I was pleasantly surprised when they offered to top up my coffee at no extra charge. Coming from owning a cafe in South Devon, I was impressed by the service and hospitality. I highly recommend this place to anyone. Though I didn't try the homemade cakes, they looked delicious.
An absolute gem. Lovely soup and quiche (I'm not usually a huge quiche person yet would wholeheartedly recommend it here delicious baking, great coffee. Quick service and super friendly staff, and our dog was made very welcome with a wee biscuit too. Very popular with the cyclists and I can see why! Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Fab as ever. Cheese scones alone with the trip. Great soup and toasties but oh my, the cheese scones were brilliant. Friendly service too and space for the dugs.
I really enjoyed the coffee and chocolate/zucchini (vegan) cake today. This is a perfect spot for cyclists and anyone else looking for a tasty treat.
The service was good, and the people made it even better. They were very nice and helped. The Victoria Sponge is a recommendation from me!
