My lovely wife and I came here for dinner one evening. I know there aren't many restaurants to pick from in town but I thought the number one ranked place might be a bit better than this! It feels more like a bar than a restaurant. The charmless terrace was full of chain smokers, none of whom seemed interested in eating anything. I'm not sure who was the most annoying them, the plentiful flies or the disinterested, slow and surly service. But what of the food? Well it was OK I guess. We shared the veggie burger and the grande salade. The burger, which came with fries, wasn't bad. Suspiciously meaty if I'm honest but they assured it really was meat free. We were enjoying 4 nights in Bun for a walking holiday in the locality. In early June it is difficult to find many restaurants open. We were therefore pleased to find that l'Apistomaque was open on our last evening, given good (local) reviews. We were not disappointed although the flies common at this time of year in the area were a distraction ! Service was friendly and efficient. We chose the gabure as a starter and burgers to follow the menu at €23 offering more food than needed. The meal was excellent and the wine in pichet very acceptable. Certainly a simple, rural restaurant to recommend.
Staying in Bun for a 16 day cycling holiday. Went to L'apistomaque for an evening meal. We both chose the set menu for €23 and it was perfect and exceptional value for money. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Will definitely go back.
Visiting l'apistomaque for many years now, we have never been disappointed. Excellent quality food from local produce, with an original twist. Plus that they have internet, handy for writing reviews
