we have a holiday home in brizambourg, a village in Charente-Maritime on the road from saint hilaire de villefranche to cognac. one of our favorite places to eat is our local bar / restaurant, L’Aquarium, where georges, the chef and parasol, a warm welcome, delicious and plentiful regional food and excellent value for money in a bright and cheerful dining room. there are 3 prix fixed lunchtime menus, price: €12, €18 and €22 (the two last require 48 hours notice,) each day including assembly and washing. all are also available for dinner (required reservations), at a slightly higher price. the price is included 5 courses (soup, entrée, main course, cheese and dessert,) wine and coffee. typica...
on the way south of st jean d’angely in direction cognac or saintes you can easily go over brizambourg and it is worth finding this remarkable restaurant. it is fantastic value for money; eating is locally produced and very well cooked. The...compassion of the place is georges, who takes a personal pride in ensuring that all people eating there enjoy their meal. there are no hidden extras the table-d'hote menus to different trips for different sizes of appetit contain a generous amount of wine. the rather unstoppable environment is the only weak, but they focus on eating so that this is not important and the place is perfectly clean.
We visited this restaurant some years ago and found it very good indeed. Our recent visit was even better. The four course meal includes wine and coffee for less than 14€ and is of a very high standard. The wine was extremely drinkable and the fish soup really superb. It is worth a special visit for lunch.

Petit restaurant de village, certes la décoration serait à refaire, cuisine excellente! Du fait maison, haricots du jardin, frites faites main. Gambas en entrée, avec foie gras offert!Je recommande vivement ce petit restaurant où le personnel est super sympa, on se croirait à la maison!

La cuisine et l'accueil sont parfaits, la salle et sa décoration sont vite oubliés grâce à l'humour des serveurs. Très bon rapport qualité prix.
On y mange très bien, ( même trop mais c'est tellement bon) , c'est un bon resto avec un bon accueille et a un prix résonable
