It was the first night of a cruise tour of the French and Italian Rivieras that my partner and I had planned in April, 2016. It had been a major transport day—lots of flying and security and passport checkpoints, and we were tired, in a new city (Cannes) looking for a good place for dinner. We had done an introductory walking tour of the area around the hotel and were meandering around some smaller side streets where we saw L’Ardoise Restaurant, a very small bistro off the main drag. The board out front advertised a prix fixe meal that included soup or salad, entrée, and dessert. The price looked reasonable so we went inside and were shown immediately to a table. De passage sur Cannes nous avons déjeuné dans ce petit resto en terrasse, rue passante, bruit de la circulation.Un menu entrée plat dessert à 17€.La tomates mozzarella salade avec trop de salade pour une entrée, la mozza pas très crémeuse mais ça passe.Ensuite carpaccio de bœuf parmesan plutôt pas mal , des pommes frites carrées plutôt bonnes et un vacherin de chez métro sans doute de qualité honorable.On se touche un peu sur la canette de coca ou d'ice tea à 4€. l'ensemble est convenable, l'accueil sympathique.
Real pleasure to find this little restaurant after 3 years .Déniché par chance dans une petite rue proche du centre : terrasse calme et ombragé, petits tables avec nappes cloth à carreaux rouge et blanc façon petits corks lyonnais, cuisine familial avec bon rapport qualite prix menu entry plate dessert pour 19 € , accueil chaleureux du patron... Unconcevable pour nous de séjour à Cannes sans une halte à l' Ardoise !
For having lunch or dinner several times this summer and having tasted pizzas, beef tartar, salmon carpaccio, Provencal calamars and of course homemade fries; I admit this place deserves to be stopped. Besides, the boss's wine is very good. Very reasonable rates. I advise.

Nice menu, we had calamari and chicken salad, 2 coffees and a tea served by a polite young server who was both attentive and efficient. Decently priced in a central location.
Good value for money. The welcome is warm. The kitchen is good: tartare, mussels or fish fillet...The red and white tablecloths could be washed.
We stopped to eat (little day in Cannes) services to the top, very pleasant and very good food!
