We ate here our second night in Saumur, and our dinner the previous night was just outstanding, so L'Aromate had a tough act to follow. The appetizers were very good and large, but the entrees were not as good. Three dinner companions had a mystery beef dish - they could not recognize the cut - and I had duck breast which was tough and undercooked. We finished with a trio of desserts that were unusual.
We ate here this evening, we chose the three course menu for 31 euros, plus we had a bottle of local sparkling rose as well. The dishes we chose were all very nice plus a mushroom cream with goat cheese mousse amuse bouche was presented to start with. Ambience is pleasant, food and service are good, the wine list has many local wines. Recommended.
Yes three,, each course was Superb, we have eaten here many times and we have always had a delicious meal, our friends said it was the best complete meal they had had in Saumur .If you've never been I throughly recommend it, but I advise you to make a reservation .
Choice of 2 different priced menus. Good variety. Good wine served. Service was a little slow, especially as we were dying of thirst. Overall though, a good experience in a pleasant smallish restaurant. Menus on chalk boards. I do like that approach. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Visited L'Aromate for a "last night" special meal and were not disappointed. Excellent staff and location and the food delicious. Aperitif, 3 courses, wine, water and cafe, 45€ per head. we had; fois gras, pork ribs and fillet steak, all delicious!!
This is a must if visiting Saumur friendly staff relaxed atmosphere and great food. It was nice to feel well looked after with knowledgeable staff and a wonderful chef which made the evening perfect. Will be back!
A nice modern family run restaurant with a menu to suit everyone. Booking is recommended as it is a very popular restaurant, a good menu, a good wine selection from the area, with good service.
