When we first pulled up to the las Barcas Restaurant I thought it was just a little takeout place. We stepped inside and there were nice tables and chairs set up on one side of the restaurant. It was all very comfortable. The menu looked amazing, there's so much to choose from. My friend and I decided to split to several things , we ordered chimichangas, flautas, and a chili, Relleno . We got one beef chimichanga, and one beef flauta, we also ordered the chicken version of each of those. Both meats were delightfully, moist and flavorful. Average Mexican food. El Grande Burrito was loaded with a ton of chicken and some beans. Nothing else. It was ok. The chicken was basically shredded chicken. Next time I'll try the Fajita Burrito with Steak and ask for it wet. It is not numbered on the menu like the other burritos. The Crispy Hard Shell Regular Taco with ground beef was great. The Chili Verde was good. We got and extra side of beans and rice. A half pint of guacamole. A full pint of salsa. I feel that the side of salsa is fresher than the little complimentary containers that come with each entree. The Alfajor cookies were great. It's like a little sandwich using shortbread and a filling of caramel.
My wife and I decided to FINALLY try this place! The only thing we regret is NOT eating here sooner! We have lived within walking distance for almost two years and are just NOW eating here! Their carne is really good! We will definitely be coming back. I'm eager to try their other menu items, like the fish tacos and their chimis! Muy delicioso!!! TWO THUMBS UP
Great place for delicious food. The fish tacos are pretty big with a good amount of fish in each taco. The sides were as good, if not better with well seasoned rice and beans. Love this place, such amazing food and the portions are huge, usually takes 2 days to eat a burrito. You also have to try the flautas, they are amazing. Every time my family visits HB the first question is, when are we going to Barcas!
I don't think there's a better place for a burrito in all of Orange County! And the salsa is something you must get extra of- because you'll want to put it on EVERYTHING for the next week! (I mean EVERYTHING!
The burritos are awesomely massive if you order them deluxe. I suggest doing that only if you are really hungry or want to share it with someone.
