It's been a few years since we visited this restaurant and it was a very different experience. I wish I'd known that it catered for huge groups as part of a package as I wanted a relaxing dining experience. It was noisy and chaotic and the large groups (including loads of kids were entitled and constantly complaining to the waiting staff which made for a tense atmosphere and stressed out staff. Our waitress was very nice to us and tried to keep a smile on her face so one mark for that. My husband enjoyed his food so one mark for that. Family meal out on the day off for our chalet hosts, which may have led to the restaurant being extremely busy, which in turn led to some disappointing service. The order for our table came in parts, with some of our party waiting 25 minutes for a drink, others received their drinks in 5 minutes. The food was similar, with some of the party waiting far longer than others. That said, the food was quite good. Filet de Bouef was very good, as were the pasta dishes. The kids had steak hache which was a bit overdone on top, but my youngest enjoyed his chips. Deserts were nice, but again only served at the point we were considering asking the staff to cancel them. Similarly, the bill took forever...
We came to the 1st service of 19 with a small baby. Everything was done for baby's comfort with the high chair. Fast service, excellent fondue. We added a great charcuterie board too. Professional and pleasant staff. Great atmosphere in the restaurant with exchanges with the other neighbors. We ate in 1h30, taking our time. Ideal for us with the baby who was due for bed soon. thank you for everything
Last evening of the stay but above all a perfect evening!! I highly recommend the Mont d’Or which is exceptional but I recommend even more their servers who are great ambiancers! Place to be very frequented!!
