We arrived at this attractive restaurant bordering the square in the picturesque village of Lussan at lunchtime. However, when the waitress asked us what we wanted and I asked if we could eat, she looked very surprised and said they were no longer serving. I...expressed surprise as it was 1.15 and the restaurant was busy but not packed. The waiter said it was exceptional. I wasn't sure if they had run out of food or the chef had closed the kitchen but the meal served to the table next to us looked good. Very nice French country food and the owners are great people. My only complaint is that the menu does not change much. I'm a local. It's not that it's bad, not at all. It's delicious. But no need to look at the menu if you... were here more than three or four times. But we still eat here and enjoy it a lot. The owners only have a few years. At first, they seemed lost. But now it's a great experience. Also a beautiful New Year's experience, provided you don't have to drive far. The wine (local wine, surprisingly well selected and good) flows freely. We had a big dinner in Lussan some time ago. Now time to try something new. When booking it sounded very formal, so even the weather dictated shorts we went for slacks. On arrival, shorts would have been available. The diner...it itself was beautiful, some nice touches, variation on a theme warm goat's bock with bacon and salad. Very beautifully presented. The main course was also very well presented, with beautiful touches, but the taste was only slightly better than average. The deserts were nice. Price/quality was better than OK. we don't eat there. Great little place in the center of Lussan. Simple menu, but nice, the food was excellently prepared and the plates looked very nice and tasty. Our dog was welcome and water was not a problem. For me a...bit was difficult to use the bathroom with steep steps in the restaurant. my only word of advice of dessert with raspberry sorbet. For me it would have been excellent if only the crème of Cassis. The Rum-Raisans, I personally thought it was a lot.
This place is good. The location is perfect and the menu tries to deliver value and quality. It would simply be nice to feel a little more joie de vivre by the employees. Yeah, we know we're tourists and we know you're working very hard, and we know that's the yard where nobody's exaggerated. But you are in FFS, so be a little hospitable and win my fifth star!! I'm back.
We have eaten here twice, both times for dinner, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves on both occasions. On our first visit we ate outside and on the second in the restaurant. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed both times and the service friendly. The food is good and nicely presented. I would be happy to eat here again.
Good dining option in the small village of Lussan. Covered outdoor dining option. Basic kitchen with traditional dishes using local produce. This is a quiet restaurant in a secluded village. Attentive service, excellent food. You may have to book in the low and high season.
