My friends and I recently visited this restaurant for brunch and were impressed by the ambiance and the unique menu options. I decided to try the special of the day: two mint-veal enchiladas topped with stringy cheese and two sunny-side-up eggs, served in a cast iron skillet. It was absolutely delicious and melted in my mouth. I will definitely be returning! Other standout dishes included spicy chorizo sausages served in a homemade hot dog bun with yuca fries and cilantro-parsley-lime mayo, as well as swordfish tataki salad made with fresh ingredients sourced from their own bee farm. Stopped at this elegantly decorated and pleasantly located restaurant for lunch with a friend. The service was good and the lunch menu which offered a salad and main course seemed enticing and reasonably priced. The spaghetti squash salad was well presented and tasty, so was the main course of roasted quail and ceasar salad. However, things went downhill with an outrageously priced minuscule cheesecake which tasted stale, and horrible coffee which ended up leaving a bitter taste in my mouth! I did point out to the waiter that the 11$ dessert was so bad I couldn't eat it... it still appeared on my bill. If you do go to this restaurant, just don't bother with dessert and coffee.
My boyfriend and I visited this restaurant during our weekend in Montreal and really enjoyed our experience! I ordered the shrimp ceviche and the calamari - both very delicious but not the best I've ever had. One of the servers brought a side of chimichurri and salsa for the calamari which was a nice touch. My boyfriend ordered the black angus steak cooked rare - WOW it was absolutely amazing. We were SO full but decided to order the passion fruit sorbet. You can tell the sorbet was made in house, it was so light and fruity - perfect end to our meal. Overall the service was good. Next time, I want to try that tableside grill full of meats and seafood, it looked really cool!
First of all be ready to pay extra for everything, even the bread at a cost of $5 and you get 5 half pieces and 2 mini dough balls (we were 5 people at the table). One of my friends ordered the quail and it was served on a plate with absolutely NOTHING accompanying it. The only thing that was halfway descent but extremely pricey for what was served was the Parrillada Completa fpr 2 at $50.00 per person. Its brought to the table on a mini BBQ but nothing to keep it warm, by the time my son and daughter-in-law got through half the food the rest was cold. Nothing like eating cold meat and fish. I have been to Lavanderia twice; first for lunch and the 2nd time for dinner. The waiter was extremely helpful and nice. My sister has a dietary restriction and the restaurant accommodated her request with pleasure. Since her dish was so good, my sister ordered a second helping. The four of us loved our food. We ordered different dishes and we are happy to report that each and every dish was done to perfection. You have got to try the Yucca fries, extremely delicious; the breads were great and fresh. The service was excellent, the ambience was great. I highly recommend Lavanderia.
We were well aware that the restaurant had 2 sittings ( one early and one later) on a Saturday night so it was very unnecessary for the hostess to "remind" us as she seated us at the table, that somebody was booked at our table for the next sitting. It made us feel very unwelcome. The evening was a special birthday dinner for my 15 year old daughters birthday, however the waitress completely ignored our kids, we had to call her back to take a drinks order for them! Good food,especially the Calamari but the service can be better!
I first went there for lunch they had a board menu on the wall. rolled my eyes until i toke the time to read it and wow was just amazin i wanted to order everything. I choosed organic salmon which was 12/10 i could say. I love the place staff was very nice. Hygiene was great since its a open kitchen. They have great spanish music going on loud enough so we can hear ourself talk
Not the usual 'spanish food' restaurant. Delicious dishes, well presented and accompanied by a good selection of wines and original cocktails. Pleasant environment inside and out on the terrace. We were not impressed by the food service at Lavanderias, but their brunch is a whole different story. The Japanese Kobe beef burger is amazing. It may just be the best burger patty out there!
