We came to Latour from Spain, arriving at 3 pm and had 1.5 hours to wait for our connection to Toulouse . I had read that the station bistro closed by 2pm, so it was great to find that they now open much longer hours, though it varies on different days. We had beef mache sandwich with chips and salad for 7.5 euros each. It was a 9 inch baguette filled almost end to end with a large minced beef patty, which tasted really good, salad and a pile of chips. My teeth are a bit too delicate to chew the crust of baguettes, but it was a large filling meal, even though I left some of the bread. If you walk in the region, a must-have place to restore. The welcome is great and done with humor. Nice and very professional waitress. For travellers taking trains: speed of service. A little fast for retired by car....We went by the train then by camping car . SNCF lines and beautiful roads. The terrace overlooks the yellow train dock. Very hearty meal whatever the dish served. I recommend kebab meat on plate and chicken served differently as good as each other. Very correct price..For memory the station of the Tour de Carol welcomes a Spanish train in correspondence to French trains.
Le Bistrot de la Gare is a bar/restaurant located in the train station of LaTour-de-Carol, a border town with Spain in France. We came here to catch the train jaune (yellow train) and we had breakfast here: a coffee with mill, an orange juice and a croissant. Also my daughter had breakfast a ham sandwich. We stopped for lunch during our trip on the yellow train. We were expecting an expensive stop since it's the only restaurant at the station but we were pleasantly surprised. Excellent restaurant all round. Great food, friendly service and excellent prices.
