We came across this classic French bistro on a recent trip to Saumur, and what a pleasure it was. Away from the more touristy centre of Saumur on the island in the Loire it would not be somewhere you stumbled across. We were lucky enough to get a table without a reservation, the place was full, mostly of locals. known to the very efficient lady who is front of house. The food was excellent, all prepared by the chef, with a good selection of choice and excellent local wines by the glass or bottle. The service was perfect and we were made to feel very much at home. We will certainly be returning and booking in advance just to be sure.
Sympathique petit restaurant qui a le mérite d'être à 10 min à pieds de la gare et en bord de LOIRE.Pour 21€ la formule du soir (Entrée + plat + dessert ou fromage), la qualité des plats servis est impeccable, et le choix est alléchant!De plus, j'ai apprécié le sourire et le professionnalisme de la gérante et du personnel!!Seul petit point: j'aurais apprécié un plat chaud un peu plus copieux (magret de canard). Mais je suis plutôt gros mangeur! Ceci étant, la qualité était largement au rdv, et "ça, j'achète!!!!". Je met donc tout de même un 5/5 en remerciement du bon moment passé dans cet établissement.
Lovely little place offering fresh and simple good food! This place gets really busy so I am glad we had booked a table in advance! The selection of choices is limited and according to the season but there will always be something to please everyone! The lady owner/waitress is very friendly and made us feel right at home straight away! Prices were very reasonable and the food was good so I would not hesitate to recommend this place and come back again on our next trip!
Last visited in July 2020 and delighted to say this restaurant maintains previous excellent standard. Hostess was very welcoming and spoke fairly good English so was able to help us understand the fare on offer. Excellent traditional French cooking with real attention to quality and detail. Highly recommended and will be back next summer, covid travel rules permitting.

de passage a Saumur nous avons testé ce restaurant sur les avis lu sur le site tripadvisornous n avons pas étés déçus la cuisine est simple mais excellente que des produits frais servis chauds pas d attente superflue les prix raisonnables (entrée plat dessert a21 euros) la terrasse est agréable et la patronne super sympa je recommande
Découverte de ce restaurant conseillé par la propriétaire de notre chambre d’hôtes à Saumur, nous avons passé un excellent moment. La cuisine est du "fait maison" et très bonne, l'accueil de Dame Sylvie fort sympathique. Nous conseillons à 400 % ce restaurant.
En weekend sur Saumur, découverte de ce restaurant par hasard .Attirer par le nom même du restaurant . Accueil sympa par la patronne , décoration rétro du restaurant, très jolie .Une cuisine " fait maison " !!!!Rien à dire , super !
Accueil chaleureux, endroit sympathique avec une terrasse , les menus proposés donnent envies de tout goûter .Seul bémol la garniture est identique quelque soit le plat choisi ,néanmoins nous y retournerons.

We had dinner here picking from the 23euro menu. The food was delicious and the bottle of Saumur rose helped it down. Friendly service interesting food made it a perfect start to our holidays.
We really enjoyed our mid-week dinner here. The menu and food were good, and the service quite acceptable. Happy to return here on a future holiday.
