A lovely water side location that could be spectacular with the same ingredients and the departure of some of the more surly staff. Regrettably the Bungalow seems to trade on its location, not its food or service. We were moved from a table in the sun, to one in the shade on a cool day as the sun was setting. The surly waiter said it was reserved. 90 minutes later there is still no one sitting at it. Menu looks ok, but I'm sure my starter was microwaved from frozen. I'm pretty sure the chips had been frozen too. It's a shame that the ambience is created entirely by the surroundings outside the restaurant, and only hampered by the efforts of those in charge. Considering the town was full of athletes competing in a two day event, you would assume that the locals would take advantage of this and extend their opening hours. Unfortunately not. Arrived just after 2pm one day looking to purchase a salad or sandwich for lunch, but were told that the kitchens had closed, was not even allowed to sit and order a drink! Some friends had also tried to eat their that night but after waiting for 45 minutes, and having asked to see a menu, had not seen a menu or been able to order a drink got up to leave. Our group of 8 (some of whom had taken part in Ironman Vichy the day before) had a fabulous meal at Le Bungalow.The chicken main dish was so tastey & well presented; I had the crepes suzette flambé with Grand Marnier & a scoop of vanilla ice cream- it was gorgeous.The owner (who we bumped into in town the next night as Le Bungalow closes on a Tuesday) was really friendly and attentive as were his staff.A great location by the river & I & the group I was with, would recommend this restaurant.
While walking, it began to drizzle and we searched for a suitable lunchrestaurant. The choice was this "Bungalow" I took mussels. They were, too small, tough, scratched and far too salty. The fries were slack. The price is relatively high. The hamburgers of my table companions would be "well done" baked, but were raw inside. With our complaints/feed back, nothing was done or suggested. This restaurant also wants to fill her bags with cash quickly. No love for the hospitality and food.

Great locations on the beach/river side and outdoor setting (you could also eat inside). I made a reservation for lunch on the day no problem. Food ok - be sure to ask for your meat - burgers well done otherwise they will come virtually raw!!! Not much English spoken which was not problem for us...not as dear as I'd thought it would be though so a good experience.

Restaurant was recommended by our hosts. We were lucky to find one table without reservation, so reserving is recommended. The steak was delicious (21 Euros). Nice views over the river.
Ambiance quite nice, waiters quick and polite, food average and prices a little too high. I ate a hambuger which looked oke but was really raw and not very warm.

Best place for lunch in Vichy. Gets busy so get there early or book ahead. Wonderful food excellent location helpful staff
