Going here after hiking up mountains is a match made in heaven. Your fixed menu (for 19 Euros) includes wine, salad, bread, charcuterie, a hot gratin, and dessert. The food is good (although some people complained the salad dressing tasted of nothing and the salad was just lettuce) although don't go there if you want choice in your meal.
We've had a great experience at Café des Alpes. The staff was very kind and made it a personal experience, while the food was amazing. Great French cuisine at an affordable price. And if the weather allows it, make sure to place a reservation so you can enjoy an amazing view on Grenoble and the mountains from the terrace.
We loved this restaurant! The patron was so welcoming and the delicious rustic lunch, especially the yummy potato dauphinoise, was perfect. Excellent waiters, too, and the choice of the two local liqueurs was the final touch. Wished we lived nearer!!! Thank you so much and au revoir!
Food is delicious BUT you don't get to choose. The menu is set at: gratin dauphinois, charcuterie and salad. It was very good but not really enough. You get a dessert as well, that you can choose and it's home made. The view is super cool. But I found it a bit expensive (27 EUR). Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
did not feel welcome. No views inside. Ordered only hot chocolates.. he just poured it from a machine! ...wanted a light snack but did not feel welcomed and there was NO one else there! would not go again. A shame as there are some wonderful hikes in the area
Really enjoyed the view, the menu and friendly service.. we did not get a place with the best view from the start, but at the moment one of the tables was free the waiters kindly helped us to move with our dishes! La glace a la Chartreuse very yammi!
If you want a stunning view on Grenoble, this is one of the places to go. They only serve one, fixed menu though, so make sure you like what's on offering! Service is okay but not spectacular. It's the views though.
It is a real pleasure to have a simple country food experience (salad and gratin supported by a Rhone wine) at the end of a day. A nice complement to a visit in Chartreuse. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
