Found by chance on the Internet it was a very good surprise. Welcomed by the dedicated and colorful landlord, we discovered a very well-equipped facility (spacious bedroom and bathroom) with swimming pool and spa, quiet and relaxing, on the edge of a wood, surrounded by green, small in size and very user-friendly. We had planned a one-night stop and we were there for two, which allowed us to visit the picturesque city of Mirepoix in just half an hour. We must not forget that we have buds there with the pleasure of the eyes and taste. In summary, the value for money is remarkable. Worth the detour.
Le Castrum est un très bel établissement (ancien restaurant étoilé) reconverti en hôtel.Il manquait effectivement un restaurant pour compléter l'activité, mais après seulement quelques mois d'ouverture, le restaurant de l'hôtel à fermé. Il n'est désormais plus possible de s'y restaurer... il vous faudra prendre votre voiture pour aller sur Lavelanet (à 5 min). Sinon l’accueil est très chaleureux et le cadre magnifique (au pied des Pyrénées).
Castrum is a very beautiful hotel (formerly a starred restaurant) converted to a hotel. There was indeed a restaurant to complete the activity, but after only a few months of opening, the restaurant of the hotel closed. It is now no longer possible to recover. you will have to take your car to go to the lavanet (at 5 min.) otherwise the welcome is very warm and the beautiful setting (at the foot of the pawns. )
This hotel ended our trip to the Ariège Pyrenees style. The greeting was exceptional, the owners smile and care. The hotel is really pleasant, whether for the comfort of the beds and the size of the rooms, the terrace overlooking the garden with swimming pool, plus the different outdoors where you can relax in peace. Everything is done to have a great time.

This is a super place to stay. Karine and Jerome are lovely hosts and take great pride in the establishment. We booked through Expedia. We would never have found it otherwise. Our stay was so nice we added another night. Highly recommended. Restaurants are nearby but not on site, except for breakfast.
We had a great welcome. The hotel is clean, beautiful and well maintained. The view from the rooms is exceptional and the breakfast is plentiful and good. We recommend this hotel without hesitation.
