We recently stayed in Vernou sur Brenne for 6 nights. We arrived quite late so decided to eat locally once we'd checked in to our hotel. Although the proprietors speak little English and I was the only one in the party who could speak French, they were so friendly and helpful and we all decided to have pizza. It's been years since I had a pizza but I have to say that these were delicious. We decided to go there again on our last evening as one of our party had had an accident and didn't want to travel too far. We visited the bar twice during our stay at Vernou sur Brenne. The first time we all had pizza, some also had chips, and it was delicious. Staff/owners are very friendly and helpful.The second time we went food was not available but then Patrice came out to us and said that she could do any variation of ham, cheese, eggs and chips and although there was no bread she had biscotti. We opted for various omelettes and chips. Absolutely delicious with tomato salad she had also provided. There were six of us and they were about to close when we arrived so we couldn't have asked for better service. For the great happiness of the vernadians, there is a change of owner... Finally, the village will breathe, the new ones are nicer, nothing to do with the others, who gave us a great service when we left.
I went there to play a lottery and finally stopped to have a little coffee on the terrace. Friendly and welcoming staff
