Booked this place several days ahead on recommendations here and specifically because they have a fairly extensive (for the mountains) range of fish on the menu, important for us as we do not eat meat or fruits de mer. Welcome was not very friendly and we were kept waiting quite a long time before the manager came to take our order. On ordering fish she went to check and returned saying they had none, but would have on Tuesday! As this was Sunday night, we were hungry there and then and this was our last night we had no alternative but to leave. Madame didn't seem too bothered and most certainly was not desole...Shame as we'd been looking forward to this and the other dishes being served loo...
After arriving in Font-Romeu and buying a ski jacket we asked the girl working in the clothes shop where to go for dinner, she recommended this place along with two others. We were not disappointed and pleasantly surprised to see her start her shift as a waitress here a bit later in the evening! It is a small restaurant which oozes character, and was busy throughout the night so I'd recommend booking if you are plan to go. The staff were friendly and efficient, food was thoroughly enjoyable and overall atmosphere made for a lovely evening. We had the duck and beef kebabs and prawn and scollop kebabs and they were delicious. I would definitely go back and highly recommend it.
Do not go here if you are looking for decent food, it is very poorWe ordered a kids meal. The frites were very greasy, the meat was heavily undercooked and our 6 year old could not swallow it (neither could my husband).I had smoked salmon for a starter; which was soaked in vinagre and oil and not recognizable as salmon. The main dish was fish, which was covered with half a cm of disgusting garlic paste, the same stuff the cook had put on my potatoes and on my husbands mussels. Even though I ate only two bites of the fish with garlic, I was thirsty the entire night.
This was my 2nd trip to this restaurant and i enjoyed it as much as the first time (2 years ago). Although they don't speak English it's such a pleasant atmosphere i enjoy going there as the friendly staff will do everything they can to accommodate even the worst French speakers!! The chef (who does speak a bit of English) came out to check i was happy with my steak - which i was! Wold highly recommend a visit. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
we have been coming here since manu and patou opened several years ago. we visit 3-4 times a year and have never been disappointed. it is easily the best in font romeu since they use the best ingredients and manu is a fantastic chef. they are also very pleasant company
Another great find. We had a delicious meal: we took one of the set menus 3 courses for 24€90 plus a great wine. I had goats cheese salad followed by fish with amazing potatoes. Then a sumptuous chocolate mousse. The service was good too.
We discovered this place in 2014 and I now insist we go every time we are in Font Romeu. The food is always excellent and it's very reasonably priced. I just love it.

So good we came back 2 days in a row for breakfast! Coffee and food are delicious wish I had one of these near my house in Seattle!
