On my first day at Carcassonne, my train got in early afternoon, I just wanted something quick to hold me over to supper. He only had one sub left in the case, chicken, so that`s what I had, to go. It was pretty good, the roll was exceptional. The next day I got there at 11:30, the owner, is friendly, and speaks very good English, was making the subs for lunch, apparently he gets maybe 18 rolls, makes the sandwiches, puts them in the case. He opens at 12:00, he said come back in 1/2 hr. There are 4 or 5 sandwiches to chose from, all in the 4-4.50euro range. I got the smoked meats sub, the fresh baked, crusty rolls are exceptional, about 10"x4", a small glass of wine was 2e., and for dessert...
While walking around exploring Carcassonne my wife and I happened upon this little restaurant. As we walked by we noticed a fellow in a doorway singing as he cooked some crepes. I told my wife: "we have to stop back at that place for lunch! People that happy in their work will cook up wonders." After exploring this wonderful, walled, fortress-city, we did indeed find our way back. We just wanted a light lunch so we split a large sandwich and had a couple of Cokes. Then I remembered the crepes so I ordered 2 Sugar and Lemon crepes (2.5 euros each!). Wow! they were excellent! The counter service was friendly and helpful. The shaded patio out back was a delight. A very reasonably priced cafe with a really good choice of baguettes and paninis. Called here to break up a walk along the ramparts and a visit to the castle. Just what we needed. Good sized sandwiches on excellent bread and delicious 3 cheese panini. 2 children can easily share 1 sandwich. Made lunch less than €20 for family of 4. A lot more reasonable than many of the restaurants in the area. Would definitely return. The owner speaks excellent English if you need it.
Walked all round La Cite...came across this little place. Offered a light lunch formule (panini or sandwich and a drink for under 7 euros). Their is no waitress service, just order at the counter. I had a ham, tomato and cheese panini, served piping hot and absolutely delicious. Sat in the shaded courtyard, behind the service desk. Allowed us to cool down on the very hot day we were there. They also do fresh crepes as well. Would go again

This is an excellent place for tasty baguettes, paninis and snacks with a range of teas, coffees, soft drinks wine and beer in the cosy interior or the courtyard garden that is edged with the ancient rampart walls. The food is freshly prepared and prompt, excellent service but it is the peaceful setting away from the bustle of the old city that makes this place such a delight.
Simple cafe that serves great paninis and sandwiches and lovely coffee too. There's a cute little courtyard out the back that is nice to sit in and eat your food. The staff are very friendly and it is not expensive. I think we paid 14 euro for 2 paninis, 2 waters, and 2 coffees. There is nothing I can fault with this place, C'est Super!
The rudest service EVER. Do yourself a favor go anywhere but here. I eat out every day for breakfast, lunch & dinner in countless cities & countries and have never experienced such a poor experience in my life. The servers on 7/14 were busy yes, but their rudeness was inexcusable. THIS PLACE DESERVES NO ONE'S BUSINESS!
Stopped here for lunch on a warm Thursday. It was delicious. I ordered the "Grec" which was chicken, mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil. He read was delicious, and the sandwich itself was huge. I washed it down with a delicious blanche beer, brewed in Carcassonne.

I come here every time I visit Carcassonne. Simply great cappuccino and a glass of wine for 2 euro. Unpretentious which is unusual here and the owner remembers us despite the gap of 3 years since our last visit
