we only needed a little lunch on Saturday during the european cadillac car rally we were here, and that was right next to the old fish market where we had been entertained to fizz and nibben from the Mayor and others would bear. Unpretentious...meal among the trees on an elevated platform in this scenic place right at the main square, and there is a small restaurant in the inner. good and busy, and the epitome of Frenchness. steaks for each of us, just a little rare when we had preferred it, even if we were asking for medium, rarely, but not bleu probably also ask for bien cuit next time. tasted, but, and served quickly.
we have booked for a Friday dinner in le chinon on recommendation of our Gite owners. the owner accepted our booking on Tuesday afternoon, but when we showed up on Friday, together with another party, the place was closed! obviously marked on board... outside was open Fridays and Saturday evenings we were on a holiday weekend without restorative and completely booked anywhere else. neighboring companies did not seem surprised by his show. best avoided, unless they actually go in when / when it is opened.
Whenever we have tried to eat here, it was never open. found in the regular open most weekends in the season. they excite the cook to insist on my steak well dinr, as most English do, but it was taken with...banner between us both. good service and not too expensive weine. menu is seasonal and not huge, but what more do they need. great mood at the place and used by locals. our newer way to come from now on. prices similar to other places before location, but better standard.
we were here while we were looking for lunch. ed. I said we could eat, but only if we order within minutes. on a table. just wanted a little lunch, but said we had courses or nothing. waitress was very nice, but. man was totally rude. we left. they don't know what the problem was, but he lost customers. would never go back.
